History

Graceville Uniting Church and its hall are Heritage Listed buildings designed and built by Sir Walter Taylor who designed many of the local landmarks, including the Sir Walter Taylor Bridge between Indooroopilly and Chelmer and the Central Buildings on Honour Avenue, Graceville.

In 2020, Graceville Uniting Church celebrated 90 years since the opening of the current church building.

Below are some historical photos of the blessing of the foundation stone, used with permission from Heather Selwood, Granddaughter of Horace White who took the photos. Horace was secretary to Sir Walter Taylor, the architect of the church, and also secretary for the trustees of the Graceville Methodist Church.
