We’re excited to announce that Graceville Uniting Church will be returning to in person worship in our building on Sunday 6 September 2020 (Father’s Day).
This of course assumes our current progress with COVID-19 in Queensland continues, with no community transmission.
Worship will be different: we will need to maintain 1.5 metres between each person (family groups excepted) and we will need to record our attendance for contact tracing purposes. We’ll also be looking at how we do communion and we’ll be avoiding morning tea for a while. There will be processes in place for sanitising on entry and ensuring we use one door to come in and one to go out. These measures are our responsibility to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable to attend and we minimise any risks of sharing infections.
And of course if you are unwell, we request that you stay home.
We’ll be announcing all of these procedures before the 6th, along with our registration form for attendance.
For those not comfortable to attend
We understand that not everyone is comfortable to attend gatherings of people and we completely respect those decisions that may come for a variety of reasons. For members of our community who are unable to attend, we will video record our services and post these online Sunday afternoon or Monday in a similar format to our current online services.
As we navigate these different times, I’d like you to consider one or two things that you are thankful for since we have last met together. Perhaps it is something new you have learnt, a quality God has been developing in you, or a praise point about our situation.
Stay tuned for more information to come.
